In this post, we will minimize the words and go with images from our upcoming book on CAMMP™
The Book Title: Project Management beyond Waterfall and Agile
The Methodology: The Customizable and Adaptable Methodology for Managing Projects™
Step 1 for Managing Projects
Select the tailored (customized and adapted) method from your organizational project management system (OPMS) that is most suitable for the type and class of your projects.
The next image is the standard project life cycle model per CAMMP™, which organizations could have adopted, customized and adapted to the type of project.
The next image is an example of a project life cycle modified to consider adaptive (agile, incremental) approach.
Step 2 for Managing Projects
After selecting the appropriate method, the project manager and project management team (PMT) will identify if there is any need for further tailoring (tweaking) of the adopted method. If for any reason, there is no adopted method to fit the specifics needs of the project, then the PMT could develop another method and add it to the organizational knowledge base.
Step 3 for Managing Projects
Once the project is launched, the PM and PMT will have to manage the first stage of the project using the CAMMP™ Six Process per the following image. Each of these processes has many steps.
Step 4 for Managing Projects
Since projects typically have many stages, the PM and PMT will repeat the stage management processes for each stage, per the following image.
It is as simple as the above process!
